Years of engineering in Fortune 500 environments: APIs, cloud platforms, CI/CD, observability, and the discipline of keeping production running.

The context
Large organizations run technology at a scale where small decisions compound. A slow deployment pipeline costs thousands of engineer-hours. A missing alert becomes a customer-facing outage. I spent years inside environments like this, learning how technology is built, operated, and kept trustworthy when a lot depends on it.
What the work involved
- Building and supporting production APIs and services used across the business
- Cloud platform work, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD pipelines
- Observability, incident response, and post-incident improvement
- Developer productivity: making the right thing the easy thing for other engineers
Why it matters now
Most of my consulting and advisory work draws on this directly. Knowing how production systems fail is what makes it possible to design prototypes that can become real products, and to tell an organization honestly what it will take to run something.
What it taught me
Reliability is a product feature. People only trust technology that shows up every time they need it.
